Enjoy everything the Cobscook campus has to offer while staying at Heartwood Lodge

Heartwood Lodge is a beautiful, comfortable, and affordable place to house your group during your event. The Lodge and Commons buildings together provide a complete package for events of any size. Week or month long trainings are possible without needing to travel between lodging and event space.

The lodge comfortably sleeps up to 50 people in 13 rooms, each with a private bathroom. Different room types are available to meet your group’s needs, with bunk beds and double/full size beds. An efficiency apartment provides additional amenities, including a work space and kitchen.

Other Campus Features

Your participants can enjoy the outdoor fire circle, miles of hiking trails, basketball court, lawn games, and beautiful scenery around the Cobscook campus during free time.

Straight Bay Cabin Rental

The beautifully built cabin sleeps 5 and overlooks acres of wild flower fields that roll down to meet the constantly ebbing and flowing intertidal ways of Straight Bay. It is equipped with solar panels for modest electricity use, a propane stove, and hand-pumped well water. Other features include a fire pit with perfectly cut logs for seating, an outhouse just 50 paces from the front door, firewood, and a canoe only for those well versed in paddling in tidal conditions.

The Cabin on Straight Bay is seasonally rented on a limited basis. Rate, availability, terms, and detailed directions are available.

Heartwood Lodge Studio Apartment Rental

Cobscook Institute’s Studio Apartment is an open, airy efficiency on the second floor of Heartwood Lodge. It has a kitchenette with an electric range and oven, a full size fridge, and a built in work space. Staying on the Cobscook Campus means easy access to the diverse array of community programs taking place daily. Plus, it’s convenient to Lubec, Machias, and Eastport, with only a short drive to the Lubec Canada crossing. For the nature lover, there are multiple state parks, many miles of hiking trails, and access points to both freshwater and ocean waterways nearby.
