Cobscook Institute is the ideal place for life-long learners and those who have skills to share.

Since its inception in 1999, Cobscook Institute has brought people in Washington County together to learn, teach and lead. Any opportunity can present itself as a learning experience. Creating Rice Hall on campus became a workshop in timberframe construction. A dry stonewall class created the base for the sign at the end of the Cobscook Institute driveway. A history class with the students from the Cobscook Experiential Program expanded into an investigation of a local Revolutionary War figure which grew into a video written, directed and produced by the students with the help of people from the local theater community.
