Damon was raised in Downeast Maine and attended local schools. He received a B.A. in Politics from Oberlin College in 2001, where he was a leader in the student cooperatives and helped found the Oberlin College Dialogue Center, the mediation center at the college. After college, he was home for the blueberry-raking season and was offered a teaching job at Shead High in Eastport, where he taught math and social studies for 14 years. Damon has a Professional Maine Teaching 7-12 Certification, Social Studies & Math, Certified Wilderness Advanced First Aid and U.S. Sailing Certified Instructor.
